Founding 15 — Partner Agreement
One page. Plain English. Both sides put $25K on the table.
This is the agreement we sign with each of the first 15 founding partners. No legalese, no surprises, no subscription cliff. Read it before you book the call so we're on the same page.
Parties
Statement Zen (a product of MRU Consulting Pty Ltd, ABN 31 150 938 113, Australia) — referred to below as "we".
The Founding Partner — the company named on this agreement at the time of signing — referred to below as "you".
What we provide — $25,000+ in value, $0 invoiced
1. Pro plan, free for life. The Statement Zen Pro plan ($319/mo at standard pricing — $19,140 over five years) at no cost, for as long as the company you represent operates and continues to use the product. "Free for life" means free for the operating life of your business, not a 12-month promo.
2. A custom ERP integration. If your ERP or AP system isn't already supported, we will build a native integration for it within 1–2 weeks of onboarding, at no cost. This work is typically quoted at $5,000– $15,000. You retain the right to keep using the integration for free under the same terms as item 1 above.
3. Founder time, 15 minutes per week, for 60 days. Direct access to me (Michael Usov) for the first eight weeks. Around 12 sessions in total. Use them for product feedback, AP process advice, integration questions, or anything else useful — typically priced at $750+ of consulting time.
4. Free reconciliation report on day zero. Before you commit, we run your AP export and a sample vendor statement through Statement Zen and email you a written reconciliation report within two business days. Find-or-free guarantee: if we don't surface at least one discrepancy worth $500 or more in your first month of paid use, we'll add an additional free month with my full attention.
5. Lifetime grandfathered pricing. If your usage outgrows the Pro plan, you keep founding-partner pricing on every tier you graduate to — for the operating life of your business.
What you provide back — concrete deliverables
1. One written case study. After 60 days of paid use, you sit with us for a 30-minute interview. We write the case study. You review and approve every word before publication. Nothing goes live without your sign-off.
2. One G2 or Capterra review. A genuine, honest review on the platform of your choice (G2 or Capterra), posted within 30 days of you going live. You write it in your own words.
3. One short video testimonial (60–90 seconds). Recorded on Zoom, edited by us, approved by you before publication. We provide a question prompt so you don't have to write a script.
4. One LinkedIn post + founder tag. We draft three options. You pick one, edit if you want, and post it from your account tagging me. Around 90 days after go-live.
5. Logo and name use. Permission to display your company logo and name on the Statement Zen website, sales decks, and pitch materials. Usage is limited to factual statements (e.g. "Founding Partner") — we will not mischaracterise your endorsement.
6. 15 minutes a week of honest feedback, for 60 days. The mirror image of item 3 above. We bring questions; you answer honestly. If something doesn't work, we want to hear it.
7. Quarterly check-ins for 12 months. 30 minutes per quarter, for the first year. Helps us catch drift, surface new asks, and stay close to your AP team.
What happens if either side walks
If you don't deliver the deliverables (items 1–5 above) within 90 days of going live — for any reason — your lifetime free pricing converts to standard pricing ($319/mo Pro). You keep using the product, you keep grandfathered pricing on tier upgrades, but the free-for-life element is contingent on the deliverables actually being delivered. This is what makes it a partnership rather than a giveaway.
If we fail to deliver our items (1–5 above) — particularly the custom integration within the agreed window or the find-or-free guarantee — you get an additional six months of free Pro on top of the lifetime arrangement, and you're released from any obligations on your side.
Either side can exit at any time. No lock-in. If we're not the right fit, you walk with your data and a clean reconciliation report. We learn what we got wrong and move on.
Boring but important
- • Confidentiality — your AP data is yours, full stop. We don't share, sell, or train models on it. Standard mutual NDA available on request.
- • Data residency — Australia (Sydney region). SOC 2 Type II in progress. Encryption at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3, post-quantum hybrid).
- • Governing law — Victoria, Australia. Disputes go to mediation before anything else.
- • This page is the operating spirit. The signed PDF version we send before kickoff carries the legally binding language. Both say the same thing.
That's the deal. Both sides win or both sides walk. No middle ground.
— Michael Usov, founder
